Il est toujours amusant de chercher quels événements sont en cours et de trouver des choses intéressantes. Ce faisant, j’ai trouvé les informations suivantes sur une exposition sur l'art de la bande dessinée au Québec au Musée québécois de culture populaire à Trois-Rivières. School Visit | Visite à l’école

This week I had a lot of fun doing a half-day workshop at a school for a group of thirty 4 to 6 year olds.  We had lots of fun “reading” my comic, discussing the story, folding and colouring origami cranes, drawing the main characters and doing a science experiment to see how different types of paper react to getting wet. The kids were amazing and had lots of great stories, insights, drawings and smiles to share.

Cette semaine, j'ai eu beaucoup de plaisir à faire un atelier d'une demi-journée à une école pour un groupe de trente enfants âgés de 4 à 6 ans. Nous avons eu beaucoup de plaisir à « lire » ma bande dessinée, en discutant l'histoire, en pliant et colorant des grues en origami, en dessinant les personnages principaux et en faisant une expérience scientifique pour voir comment les différents types de papier réagissent à se faire mouiller. Les enfants étaient incroyables et avaient beaucoup d'histoires géniales, d’idées, de dessins et de sourires à partager.

Alter Ego: Comics and Canadian Identity | Alter ego : les bandes dessinées et l’identité canadienne

This week I received an e-mail from the Library and Archives Canada stating that they have received my comic and that it can now be accessed, and read, at their building in downtown Ottawa.

They also let me know that they have an exhibit going until September 14, 2016 called Alter Ego: Comics and Canadian Identity.  The exhibit is open to the public and is located at their Wellington Street building.  I will have to make some time to head over and check it out.

Cette semaine, j’ai reçu un courriel de la Bibliothèque et Archives Canada me laissant savoir qu'ils ont reçu ma bande dessinée et qu'elle peut maintenant être inspectée et lue à leur édifice au centre-ville d'Ottawa.

Ils m’ont aussi informée que l’exposition Alter ego : les bandes dessinées et l’identité canadienne est en cours jusqu’au 14 septembre 2016. L'exposition est ouverte au public et se trouve à leur édifice sur la rue Wellington. Je vais devoir trouver un peu de temps pour aller y faire un tour.

Book signing and some cool finds | Dédicaces et belles trouvailles

Thank you everyone who came out to see me at the Montreal Comic Arts Festival.  There were many of you who picked up my book and read it.  Sales were a bit lower than expected, meaning that I did not cover the gas and table rental costs, but I still made some interesting contacts and picked up some interesting books. 

I picked up 3 books published by Éditions Trip Comix:

·      Silent Worlds by Carlos Santos (winner of Bédélys Award for Quebec comic in the independant category)

·      Agalma by Stanley Wany (nominated for the 2016 Doug Wright Awards: Pigskin Peters Award)

Merci à tous ceux et celles qui sont venus me voir au Festival BD de Montréal. Vous avez été plusieurs à avoir acheté mon livre et l’avoir lu. J’ai fait un peu moins de ventes que prévu, ce qui veut dire qu’elles n’ont pas été suffisantes pour couvrir le coût de l’essence et de la location de la table, mais j’ai quand fais quelques contacts intéressants et j’ai pu ramasser quelques livres intéressants.
